As from September 2012 the academy will be increasing the teaching provision for children in Yr 7 and 8 from 26 hours to 28 hours. This will allow the academy to ensure students are fully equipped with the skills necessary to access the curriculum fully as they move towards option choices and public examinations from Yr 9 onwards. Many students in Yr 7 and 8 already take advantage of additional provision after school. As of September 2012, for Yr 7 and 8 students the school day will finish on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at 4pm, Thursday at 3pm, and Friday at 2pm.
