Admission Applications

The Bishop of Winchester Academy welcomes applications for young people of all faiths and no faith for places in our secondary school and 6th Form. 

If you are considering making an application you will be able to view the policy below.  Applications for admission to the secondary school should be made through the Local Authority Admissions Team, with Supplementary Information Forms being submitted to ourselves. 

Applications for admission for primary to secondary transition should be made by 31st October of each academic year to your own local authority admissions team. 

Applications for in-year admissions should be made to Bournemouth Borough Council Admissions Team.

Admissions 2017-2018

The Academy Governing Body (as the Academy’s Admissions Authority) determined its Admissions Policy for the academic year 1st September 2017 to 31st August 2018 in January 2016. Consultation occurred during the period December 2015 to January 2016.  No responses were received.  Click below for the finalised Admissions Policy 2017/2018.

FINAL ADMISSIONS POLICY 2017-18

In accordance with Admissions Regulations, The Bishop of Winchester Academy will be undertaking admission appeals for unsuccessful applicants seeking admission to the Academy’s Year 7 in September 2017 in June 2017.  In order to be guaranteed of having an appeal heard at this time, any request for an appeal must be submitted in writing to the Clerk to the Governors no later than Friday 31st March 2017.  The request must include details of the grounds for your appeal in order that it may be accepted.  Prospective appellants are advised that acceptance of an offer to another school will not prejudice your right to make an appeal to this Academy.
