Blood Brothers Trip

During February and March, the English and Drama departments have given Year 10 and 11 students the opportunity to see productions of the set texts they are studying in drama and/or literature.  A group of 130 went to see Blood Brothers at the Pavilion in Bournemouth where it was on tour from the West End.  The Fred Theatre company then came into the academy and performed ‘Macbeth’, ‘A Christmas Carol’ and ‘The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde’.  All of these performances provided students with the chance to see a range of live theatre and help them understand the plot, character and themes of key texts that will contribute towards their literature grade.  As a department, we are always keen to offer students the opportunity to see their texts come to life as it supports their learning and offers them to chance to experience something different.
