A Level Maths

Mathematics enables people all around the world to communicate and exchange knowledge.  The logic and reasoning skills developed make sure the qualification is widely respected even in non-mathematical arenas.

A Level Further Maths

Further Mathematics is designed to broaden the mathematical experience for those where AS Mathematics is not enough!  Further Mathematics develops some of the concepts met in A Level Mathematics and brings it to a higher plain, providing more opportunity to see how mathematics is applied.  This subject needs to be studied in conjunction with Mathematics A Level.

A Level Economics

Economics affects everyone on the planet and is an exciting and increasingly important subject. It is the study of how Society and individuals allocate scarce resources - therefore it is a Social Science. We study people’s behaviour, business behaviour, Government behaviour, international behaviour, how markets are affected by changes in the economic climate, how markets adapt to economic change, how we try to influence the economy, how countries will compete with each other and work together. It’s an increasingly important subject as the world becomes ever ‘smaller’ and tries to find solutions to the problems caused by globalisation and the 2008 world banking/financial crisis.

Core Maths

Level 3 Mathematical Studies (Core Maths) helps to develop students’ mathematical
skills and thinking and supports courses such as A-level Psychology, Sciences and
Geography as well as technical and vocational qualifications.

Please note that Core Maths is timetabled in addition to three subject choices (like
the EPQ)
