A Level Drama and Theatre Studies
After successfully completing your GCSE, you can apply for A-Level Drama and Theatre studies at TBOWA. You will need a C or above. This course will provide you with opportunities to excel your drama skills ready for Acting University courses. You will have communication with leading practitioners in the acting industry and professional acting workshops.
The A-Level is broken down into 3 components: Understanding Drama and Theatre, Creating Original Drama and Making Drama
You will develop a knowledge and understanding of :
¨ The theatrical processes and practices involved in interpreting and performing theatre.
¨ How conventions, forms and techniques are used in drama and live theatre to create meaning.
¨ How to devise a performance from a stimulus and in the style of a chosen practitioner.
¨ How creative and artistic choices influence how meaning is communicated to an audience
Students will study the following Set Texts:
¨ The Caucasian Chalk Circle by Bertolt Brecht
¨ Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare
¨ Metamorphosis by Steven Berkoff
