Hot Weather - School Closure

Dear Parents and Guardians,
Due to the adverse weather conditions, we have made the decision to close the academy early today at 1:00pm.
Students will have the opportunity to take an early lunch and will then be dismissed once we have received parental consent confirming they can leave the school site safely.
For any students who cannot be collected, or where consent has not been received, they will remain on site and be supervised in classrooms equipped with air conditioning.
Please also note that the academy will be closed tomorrow, as a red weather warning remains in place. We hope to reopen on Friday, as the forecast is currently showing an improvement in conditions. However, this will be kept under review and we will provide further updates as necessary.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, but the health and safety of our school community must remain our highest priority.
We would also kindly ask that you remind your child about water safety. As a coastal community, local beaches and rivers can be particularly dangerous during hot weather, with risks such as strong currents, cold water shock, and rapidly changing conditions. Please encourage your child to follow local guidance, avoid entering the water unsupervised, and prioritise their safety at all times.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
