Careers information, advice and guidance
Students receive independent and impartial information, advice and guidance appointments during their time at the academy to support them with their careers planning, particularly in respect to post 16 and post 18 transitions. Information, advice and guidance meetings are offered to students by Mrs Bryan-Brown, the academy's Aspirations, Careers & Work Experience Lead. Mrs Bryan-Brown holds a level 6 diploma in Careers Guidance and Development and is a Registered Member of the Career Development Institute and as such agreed to a code of ethics and continuing professional development. Alongside her other careers work, she can offer support with choices relating to courses and qualifications, apprenticeships, employment, work experience, volunteering and training programmes.
Parents/guardians are welcome to make any enquiries by emailing careers@tbowa.org.
The virtual Careers and Apprenticeship Show took place in May 2021. Webinars recorded at the event with a variety of employers across the region showcasing a range of career opportunities, are available to access to support students and parents/guardians with further careers research.
In addition to the information, links and resources provided in other sections of these careers pages, students, parents/guardians and staff can also access a wide range of resources online to help with researching or developing careers ideas or to explore possible education or training pathways, including the following list below. We are happy to receive requests to be added to this list.
